North Pole 37 Arrives at Its Destination

North Pole 37, the 37th Russian manned drifting station, has reached an ice block north of Wrangel Island in easternareas of the Arctic Ocean aboard the Yamal nuclear-poweredicebreaker.

The sixteen members of the crew are now setto drift for one year, making year-round weather, aerological, andglacial observations. They will also study the processes influencingclimate change in the central Arctic region.
