From April 20th to 22nd, 2012, Students on Ice will organize the PolarEDUCATORS Workshop in Montréal, Québec, Canada to gather 150 international educators for a two-day professional development workshop in natural and social sciences as they relate to polar education.

The Arctic Science Summit Week 2012 will be held in Montreal, Québec, Canada from April 20th to 22nd, 2012, immediately before the IPY "From Knowledge to Action" conference and at the same time as the APECS Career Development Workshop: From Knowledge to Careers.

From April 20th to 22nd, 2012 the IPY Montréal 2012 Career Development Workshop: From Knowledge to Careers will be held in Montréal, Québec, Canada.

From April 22nd to 26th, 2012, the Innsbruck University Center in Obergurgl, Austria will host the 8th International Conference on Contaminants in Freezing Ground. The main objective of the conference is to gather stakeholders with a scientific or practical interest in contaminants in cold climates.

The “From Knowledge to Action” Conference is to be held in Montreal (Canada) from April 22nd to 27th, 2012. This international forum will provide an opportunity to demonstrate and apply the latest findings of polar research on a broad range of topics. This conference will further present the highlights of IPY 2007-2008 and the recent polar science assessments that are advancing our knowledge of the Polar Regions.

The 2012 Canadian Hydrographic Conference is to be held at the Scotiabank Convention Centre in Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada from May 15th to 17th. The conference will explore new approaches to the challenges of Arctic hydrography.

From May 25th to June 1st 2012, the International Glaciological Society (IGS) will hold an International Symposium on Seasonal Snow and Ice in Lahti, Finland.

The 22nd International Offshore (Ocean) and Polar Engineering Conference will be held in Rhodes, Greece from June 17th to 22nd, 2012.

The International Conference on Permafrost, held every four years, is the premier venue for all research related to permafrost. To be held in Tyumen (Russia) from June 25th to 29th, this conference will focus on arctic, Antarctic, and alpine permafrost research.

The SCAR Science Week 2012 and 5th Open Science Conference will be held in Portland, Oregon, USA from July 13th to 25th, 2012. The events will emphasize SCAR's dual role in facilitating scientific research and providing advice to policy makers.

Health professionals will be gathering in Fairbanks, Alaska, USA from August 5th to 10th to share health-related research findings and program successes that will improve the quality of life for those living in circumpolar regions at the 15th International Congress on Circumpolar Health.
